The Stamp Act resulted in many colonial boycotts on British imported goods. It then led to the Stamp Act being repealed on March 17, 1766. The fact that it was repealed led the colonists to believe that they could oppose British rule peacefully. But the idea was immediately dropped when the Boston Massacre happened. It then set the grounds for violent conflict between Americans and the British, which caused other important colonial actions that led to the American Revolution.
